the Abyssinian-cat belongs to one of the oldest cat-races. the first copy of an English military-expedition from Abyssinia (today Ethiopia) was taken along for 1886. Already the Egyptians admired the tawny Abyssinian-cat. Until today, the Abyssinians embody and the Egyptian Mau the most purely the beauty-ideal of the fashionable, narrow, old-Egyptian one(s) Cat-goddesses. Both very probably descend directly from the fallow-cat. Today, it still fascinates the people with its mysterious eyes, its solid muscular shape and its uncommon intelligence. A true goddess among the cats.

The Abyssinian-cat is moderate-sized and slim, nevertheless muscular. it has a wedge-shaped one, not to short head and big, far explained ears. These look especially pretty if they have hair-tufts at the top. The eyes are also far explained, easily almond-shaped and always seem especially alert. they are green, honey-yellow or hazelnut-colored and must be bordered by a black lid-line. The Abyssinian-cat has a brick-red one, black nose-mirror bordered. The legs are rather long, slim and tender-bony. it possesses an uncommon, dense, short, fine fur of tawny color with black or dark brown Ticking (game-coloring). However, the fur-coloring of the Abyssinian-cat also is enough from auburn over blue-gray, deer-colored until to silver.

The most happily, the Abyssinian-cat is in the company of people. There, it can realize its communication-joy the best. it is a trustful, clinging cat, which possesses big courage. it is not nervous at all and only very rarely makes use of its tender voice. Most Abyssinian-cats are very skillful and intelligent. But altogether they are climbers excited, many can open doors. With its mild temper, it pleases its people and gives them much joy through its active and cheerful type. If however, it to often and too long is left alone, it is inclined to depressions.
