Baumstachler

BaumstachlerScientific name:
Erethizontidae

Natural spread:
America

occurs the Baumstachler only in America and has not much awfully with the porcupines of the old world. they probably originate from a quite different rodent-root as the ground-living in actual porcupines and are to be put into the guinea pig-relationship of the originally South American Nager.

they are tree-inhabitants almost exclusively and live, from Alaska as far as to Argentina, almost all over America.

In North America, the North American Baumstachler or Urson occur. In South America, the Bergstachler and the Greifstachler live. The Borsten-Baumstachler form a systematically difficult one-assigning group from Brazil.

As is changed with the actual porcupines body and tail-hairs into more or less stiff and pointed thorns. The thorns are the alto-world-porcupines, whom they don't look like either, however significantly shorter than this.
