the males of the Braunkehlchens is black-and-white-bay patterned in the summer, a white tail-root and a pure eye-stripe have, that distinguish it from the near relative Schwarzkehlchen (Saxicola torquata). In the winter, the whole plumage is more brownish, the female is somewhat weaker all-year colored. Both sexes have a white wing-time.

Hikes The Braunkehlchen is a distinct migratory bird. The hibernation-areas lie in the tropical areas of Africa and Asia, from March, in the brood-areas, that are enough in Europe as far as to the northern Scandinavia, move.

Way of life Braunkehlchen live in predominantly moist, low overgrown terrain, like meadows and bogs. Here, they hunt after insects densely over the ground. Only the female broods until the boys slip after approximately 14 days. As nest-stools, they are fed by both alto-birds and are still led after the abandonment of the nest. Frequently, Braunkehlchen rear two yearly-broods until they move again southwards in the autumn.

Endangering The Braunkehlchen is on the red list of the strongly endangered animals with us today.
