the intelligent Burma-cats is supposed to have lived in Buddhist temples already in the fifteenth century. The history of the breeding however still is young: the first dark brown beauty was brought 1930 from Burma to America and with a Siam Seal Point tomcats verpaart. The present-day race arose from it for Burma. it was acknowledged in the middle of the 70er years. Although they are stately and charming, they extremely possess mischievous and lively characteristics. In America and England, they belong to the most known and most popular races beside the Siamesen and Persians.

The fur of the Burma-cat is very short, fine, shiny, silken and narrow lying flat on the body. This shine is Burma one of the peculiarities of this. The "original-color" is dark brown. However, it gives already ten recognized colors, from brown over blue, to lilac today, red until creams. With all colors, the sub-body is lighter than the back and the legs. The color-course is however flowing. The fur is durchgefärbt terraced up to the root without any Smokeeffekt or Ticking. it Burma is by nature powerfully built, with outstanding muscle-tone and for its size surprisingly heavy. it has one long and agile bodies with round breast, round ear-tops and small, dainty paws. it makes an extremely exotic impression on the observer. The head has the form of a blunt wedge. The higher headboard is wide and from good height. The eyes stand far apart, is big and shining. The upper eye-line proceeds rounded after Oriental type to the nose, that is low against it. The eyes can have all yellow-shades. A golden yellow is desired.

it Burma is highly intelligent and curious. its charm is the certain something, immediately is bewitched by the cat-lover. its love and devotion doesn't know any borders. it lives very gladly among people, copes well also with other cats and also with dogs, however. its special preference is the presentation of small tricks. its nature is very spirited. Always they come back on stupid thoughts and participate with every mischief. Since it is unwillingly alone, it should be already two.
