the Commerson-Delphin lives in the cold waters of the southern oceans with three near relatives types.

The splendidly black-and-white colored dolphin gains a length of 1,2-2 m, its flippers become 40 cm long, and the tail-flukes stretch 30 cm. The Commerson-Delphin is as far as on the rear tail-region, that 10 cm high back-Finn and colored a small area around the sex-opening around purely white at the body. The mentioned regions as well as the flippers and the head with exception of the throat are ebony.

This type probably is the showiest small whale of the southern hemisphere. (There, there are still three other, similarly colored types.) The muzzle is not beak-good taken off the head, the jaws carry 25-32 teeth on each side.
