Dorade Scientific name: sparus auratusNatural spread: Mediterranean the Dorade, named also Sackbrasse or Goldbrasse, is a penetrated one, round-fish with high-curved backs, that occurs pink, red, blue and gray-black in the colors. it is native in the Mediterranean and in the South European Atlantic. There are also some freshwater-types.
The Dorade has an oval, at the side leveled off body with big head and steep Stirnprofl, deep-set small mouth with thick lips. However, most conspicuous mark is a wide gold-bond between the eyes, that fades after the death. At the beginning of the side-line, a dark stain sits. The coloring is blue-gray at backs and flanks, to the stomach more brightly, silver-shiny. The fish lives until in 30 m of depth over rock-reasons and sea-grass-meadows.
A Dorade becomes long until 60 cm and 1,5 kg heavily and lives from cancer and mollusks.
