These animals probably are the most known representatives of the marsupials. they are regarded as classic examples of the totality of the kangaroos although this group is very multifarious.
Physique The smallest types of the kangaroos, who reach the biggest, are the vertex-height of a human being only approximately rat-big raised. The front-legs are usually short. Five often strongly bekrallte awards them toes the look of hands. The rear-feet are more or less extended. Only with the musk-rat-kangaroos, another big-toe exists, the remaining kangaroos lack it. Way of life The habitats of the kangaroos are very diverse. Some types are pure steppe-inhabitants, others prefers rocky terrain; some live mainly on trees. Still, there are forms, that live in the high grass, in the thicket of the sub-growth of forests or in light brushland-ships. Kangaroos of the open steppes usually are very fast animals, who develop a huge jump-strength with its mighty hind legs. The bush-inhabitants often have shorter hind legs.
Kangaroos are herbivores. One could observe ruminating with some types from food. they frequently live individually or in small troops, that consist of a male and several females with its boys. Smaller types succeed an old of 8 years in 12 and big 16 years becoming middle old.
After a Tragzeit of 30 - 40 days, every year was usually born a young. The bag-time can last up to 250 days.
