this with the lynxes of the type Lynx used, but the smallest representative of the lynxes with a shoulder-height of 40 - 45 cm is into an independent type supplied desert-lynx. it is even high-more legged than its cousin in the relationship; its feet are included more gracefully and at the soles hairless. it doesn't possess any sideburns, for it however big ears with very long hair-tufts at the tops. The short-haired fur is ungefleckt sand-colored until gray-bay and with the adult animal. The underside is white.

Way of life As day, and twilight-animal lives in Africa's dry-areas, Arabia, small it, front and Mittelasiens. it lives until gazelle-size after type of the small-cats of Nagern and other mammals. it covers long time with its liquid-demand through the body-juices of its loot.

Births come over the whole year after a Tragzeit of 70-78 days before. The 2-5 boys can immediately see, however, the eyes open completely only after 6-10 days. The Säugezeit amounts to approximately 10 weeks.

Endangering The Karakal is threatened in sharing of its African spread-area and in India.
