the Kitfuchs lives in North America's west in two subtypes.

Shape, way of life Kitfüchse are red-fox-similar, but small, with paler coloring and bigger ears. they live purely nightly in steppe-areas, that must have soft, grave-pure underground at their disposal. There, the Kitfüchse position its holes, also takes on such from silver-badgers from time to time. The Kitfüchse got the name Swift-Fuchs on the basis of its enormous speed. On a route over 100 m counts it at all to the fastest mammals. Beside this ability, they still show the peculiarity to flee in sharp zigzag-run so that the eye can hardly follow them.

Kitfüchse are among the shy-Estonians, but also to the most useful representatives of the Hundeartigen. Beside its quality, not to assault at house-creatures and hunt-pure game, its food-habit joins, derzufolge it almost exclusively of grasshopper-mice and other Neuweltmäusen, at who they along-sneak carefully, in order to then catch it in enormous run, lives.

Reproduction Kitfüchse live outside the reproductive-time as a loner. In the months February until April usually bears the females four to five kids, in whose Aufzucht also the male dog takes part.

Endangering The Kitfuchs is threatened through prosecution and destruction of its habitat and exterminated regionally already, according to Z. B. in Canada.
