the Landseer resembles the Newfoundlander very much. it differs mainly in the color from this. The Landseer has a longer head, higher runs and easily waved hair.

The Newfoundlander was at beginning of the 19. Century very variable. Different types developed, from which the Landseer followed. it owes its name to the painter Sir Edwin Landseer, who would like to use it as motive.
