the Ungarische Vorstehhund leaves itself retrace in the story of many centuries of Hungary's change-full history. It was shaped its breeding and its development by the hunt-like requests of that time already very early, especially through the hunt to horses and the falconry many times applied with it. On this occasion, the typical requests for a Vorstehhund, therefore the distinctive search and finder-will, are to be mentioned particularly as also an easy Führigkeit necessary for the different hunt-types. Expel a multiplicity of historical facts on its typical coloring to, a quality, already early, that was consolidated züchterisch.

The historical confused of the late one 19. Led century to a decline of the typical hunt-types in certain respects and with it also this breed. However, conscientious and tradition-conscious breeders then took the threads into their hand and got this interesting breed with it for us. Züchterische Veredlungsarbeit still turned into the consistent improvement of its qualities in the course of the 19. Done century through Einzüchtung of the English Pointers, the short-haired German Vorstehhundes as well as the bloodhound. After all the likelihood, its ability comes from the pannonischen trackers native in Hungary to find game and to put it, its color however is classed as belonging to an early in-crossing of the yellow Turkish Vorstehhundes.

The wire-haired variation of the Hungarian Vorstehhundes arose for short-hair wire-hair from the Hungarian through aimed in-crossing of the German. It was valid in the Reinzüchtung of the wire-haired variation, as well as, to get the typical color of the Hungarian dogs, to manage also like the more severe hardness typical for all wire-haired variations. Only 1965, the FCI acknowledged the standard of the Hungarian wire-haired Vorstehhunde, and consequently the new race was official.

This breeding-work was understood in accordance with the decisions of Szöchenyi 1980 from the VUV to the recovery of the particular qualities of rough-hairy Vorstehhunde. The basis for this "pilot-project" of the VUV.e.V. it constructed wire-hair "Attila of the Nücheler Dörn" and this German "Anja" from Italian breeding Hungarian short-hair-bitch with HZB Nr. AI. 71712, Milano, 04.09.1979. The excellent hunt and test results of this pilot-project emphasize the correctness of this work. The first imports from Austria and Hungary to Germany were registered with the VUV 1973 and 1978. In the meantime, it is successful to create a small breeding-basis of very powerful "UD" in Germany.
