the Plumplori is the most colorful semi-monkey from the subfamily of the Loris. it is the bigger and with 0,5-1,5 kg also the heavier cousin of the Schlankloris.
Shape The Plumplori resembles the Potto, has a colorful face-drawing and only a not visible stub-tail in contrast to this, however.
The very dense fur is from a splendid brown, bay or gray, the underside is more brightly colored. Between the eyes, up to the nose, the Plumplori, like the Schlanklori, has a white blaze. The eyes are gloomily bordered. A dark neck-strip forks on the forehead and proceeds up to the eye-rings. The small ears can darker, cheeks and muzzle more brightly than the remaining face are colored.
The short, round nose carries, as with almost all semi-monkey, a bare nose-mirror. The pupils of the big, forward directional night-animal-eyes narrow to a vertical split during the day.
The four extremity is approximately equally-long, however is the rear ones clearly more powerfully developed. The short and wide hands can grab firmly. The thumbs and the big toe can be extended far. The index finger is not shortened like with all the Loris. All fingers carry 2 until on the bekrallte. Toe (semi-monkeys) flat nails.
Way of life The nightly living Plumploris are hermits or live together in pairs. Urine-brands are placed to the bearings and to the demarcation of the territory.
With the tooth-comb formed from the lower jaw-edge-teeth and the finery-claw of the 2. Toe goes in the Plumplori for an intensive fur-care.
The Plumplori climbs quadruped. its movements are slow. it always places only one feet onward and sneaks so inaudibly through the branches. The feet can forward or behind and are placed in arbitrary sequence. The Plumplori can execute the oddest gymnastics with the mountaineering. it climbs the trunk up or down immediately well onward or backwards. it can hanging on a branch or under it, climbs. Sometimes, it climbs spirally along the branch in order to avoid sticking out branches. it can with the head downward hanging only at the feet, eats. The Plumplori eats fruits and eats leaves and seeds, hunts preferred insects, lizards, birds and even small mammals, however.
Reproduction The Plumplori, in contrast to the Schlanklori, doesn't have any certain reproductive-periods. The female gets one, more rarely two young, that was born with open eyes. The small Plumplori can immediately cling in the mother's peritoneum. The young later is transported also on the back. The female carries the young until this almost is as big as it itself.
Obviously, also the male takes care of the offspring. The children climb around also on the father and sometimes oversleep the day with it together.
The boys are suckled approximately one half year, takes already from the 10, however. Life-day solid food to itself. With one three-fourths of year, the Plumploris are independent.
