the Sitatunga has a withers-height of approximately 115 cm with a weight by 100 kg. it is built over behind and bigger than the otherwise analogical bush-goat. The long, straggly fur is usually bay with the females, colored dun with the males, however. The southern subtype is more dun. The white drawing consists of strips and stains at torso and thighs.

Swamp-antelopes can dive also in the water and can hide, with what the nose-holes only look out over the water-surface. The animals can also swim well. Possibly, they reached them this way far from the shore of took away islands of the Viktoria-lake.
Reproduction In the combination-time, the bucks fight severely together. While a buck drives a female, indicated duels occur, with what the female animal procures validity itself through snapping and Stirnstoßen. Before the combination, the buck pushes the female with its head and neck toward the ground.
After a Tragzeit of 215-230 days, Sitatungas 1 place or 2 kids. The boys are Ablieger, for which are looked by the dam to suckling and run towards the mother then.
