with the Somali is it about the long-haired version of the Abyssinians. The first impression, that one wins from her, seems to be that of a wild unbridled cat. This impression is deceptive since the Somali quite prefers a civilized and cultivated life.

The race shows remarkably many fur-variations. it is not monochrome: it always shows changing layers of different colors. The color jumps around, there is not any individual one(s), on which the eye could rest, but a permanent iridescence, if the cat moves. The original-color is "game-colors", today, however many further colors are bred, so for example, Sorrel, Fawn, Black-Silver and Blue. The middle-long, elastic, full fur is brilliantly with fine texture and very fine. It should densely and double is. The whole surroundings interests it on the Höchste, and they love climbing, but they postpone or it only rarely shatters something even if they go between the matters in the slalom. Only the highest place is sufficiently high for them. The loose skin helps them to escape from narrow splits and human hands. The Somali is an intelligent, game-joyful cat. it hates closed doors, it really doesn't like any cages. The Somali goes in it like a game-animal up and down. However, it loves the comfort to have a sure one at home, but it estimates quite also a stroll in the garden.
