Tamarine

TamarineScientific name:
Saguinus

Natural spread:
South America

to the Tamarinen counts the lion-monkeys the type Leontopithecus as well as 11 types of the type Saguinus, of which some should be introduced here.

The Tamarine live at the lower reaches of the Amazon in the local Urwäldern and in the area of the Central America-niches land-bridge. Here, 2 types, the coat-monkey (Saguinus bicolor) and the Kaiserschnurrbarttamarin (Saguinus imperator), are described. With the coat-monkey, a white collar adorns backs, shoulder and stomach while its bare face is drawn dark brown until black and harmonizes quite pleasantly with it in the remaining brown fur. Nevertheless, all these bare-face-y monkeys work little attractively on us, if not its bearers through agreeable, possierliches conduct the careful and objective observer's affection would achieve. Therefore, many of these small-monkeys turn into for looked zoo and lover-animals. This is applicable particularly to the Kaiserschnurrbarttamarin, an almost impressive-pity-dear dignity down-hands its long, white-haired beard-ornament until on the breast and awards the face. That is long tail with an only 20 cm long animal with 30 cm to be reached probably only heavily with other means. Unfortunately coloring and color-distribution vary strongly according to origin of the Tier, and also with the age, these characteristics still change so that obscurity still often rules its systematic position. One knows only fragmentary also about the homestead-life.

The biology of the Tamarine resembles the one completely that remaining marmosets.
