Tonkanese

TonkaneseScientific name:
Prionailurus

Natural spread:
America

although this name sounds very Oriental, the cats are an American Züchtung. The Tonkanesen were bred already in the USA in the 30er years. Only in the 80er years, this race was acknowledged also in Germany. it is the result of a Verpaarung of Siamesen and Burmesen. it owns also characteristics and qualities of both parents-races.

In the USA, only five colors are acknowledged: Nature-mink, blue mink, honey-mink, champagne-mink and platinum-mink. The tone should be even, on the underside somewhat lighter. The insignia clearly should take off. The middle-short fur of the Tonkanesen is soft, finely and silken and is to be done narrowly. It has a shining shine and requires little care. The body is moderate-sized, lithe and muscular. It is a cat, become noticable with the two parent: The slim Siam and the descended Burma. it has an astonishing weight in the relationship to the height. its legs are long and slim. The dainty paws are oval and should have the bale-color matching to the fur-color. its tail rather is long in the relationship to the body. The head is wedge-shaped, with long, straight nose. The ears are moderate-sized, broadly with oval molded tops. The Tonkanese has almond-shaped, moderate-sized, far auseinangergestellte eyes. The color should be blue-green.

The Tonkanesen are quite active, they run and like to jump. they enjoy moving. they are sociable, outgoing and affectionate. The Tonkanese is a delightful, very human-referential cat.
