It showed so surprisingly severe similarity with the African gold-lints (family Chrysochloridae) that some researchers held it for near relatives at first. While however, the African animals possess a well-trained placenta (placenta), is the Australian proper marsupial. Gold-lints and bag-lints show remarkable agreements with the physique, in which even type of the ditch and in the color and nature of the fur. One calls such similarities, that can develop with same way of life under same environment-conditions, parallel-developments or convergences.

Shape Bag-lints probably are Marderbeutler the most astonishing and most uncommon members of the order. The mole-similar body is 9-18 cm long.
