the impressive centime-antelope has a withers-height of 140 cm and a weight by 250 kg. it raised a powerful shape carried neck and falling away back-line as well.

The color of the fur is dark brown with white stomach-side and white face-drawing. With increasing age, the fur becomes darker. The females remain somewhat lighter. A Stehmähne is on the neck. The ears don't carry any hair-tufts like with the horse-antelope. The very long horns are strongly curled and form a high bow to the back. The horns of the females are weaker.

Habitat Centime-antelopes prefer light tree-savannas and bush-groves in water-proximity.

Way of life The centime-antelopes form herds of 10-20 animals, who stand under leadership of an old buck. In the dry-time, they join together to larger associations. Also buck-herds occur. In the morning and in the evening, centime-antelopes are especially active.

With its long, pointed horns, these antelopes can defend themselves even against lions and hyena-dogs effectively. its marksmanship is amazingly good with hits with the horns. Most other antelope-types look for its salvation in contrast to it at the escape.

Reproduction The bucks fight together and lead combination-ready females from the herd. With the combination-prelude, males and females circle about each other. Before the mating, the buck executes the run-impact.

The young is sallow colored bay in the birth. The female has 4 teats.

Food Centime-antelopes are grass-gluttons predominantly.
