the doctor-fish or Seebader is given a home above all in coral-reef-areas of the tropical seas. They owe its name to two knife-good thorns on each side of the tail-stalk, with which they can inflict enemies quite considerable wounds. Also with the catch of doctor-fishings or when being busy in the sea-water-aquarium is caution offered, since one can hurt oneself easily at the thorns.
Shape Doctor-fish are very strongly compressed lateral; they seem almost disk-shaped with the long back and anus-fins. The eyes sit highly at the head. The bezahnte mouth is notably small and extends snap-nicely with some types. Most Seebader are only moderate-sized fish of 20-30 cm of length, that becomes it the biggest approximately 100 types altogether, 50-60 cm long.

The Weißkehl or mask-doctor-fish (Acanthurus leucosternon, until 30 cm), who lives in relaxed swarms, is not less splendidly and the striped doctor-fish (Acanthurus lineatus) colored, the two one also in the indopazifishesn area occurs.
The Segelbader (type zebra-grandma) owe its name to the especially high back-fin. This shows to yellow Segelbader (zebra-grandma flavescens) colored only in the surroundings of the Hawaii-islands, that is in the remaining indopazifishesn spread-area of living fish, its yellow color-dress brown.
The horn or rhinoceros-fish (type Naso) possess bone rises instead of the sharp scalpels, also a small, poisonous thorn is found with some types.
The two types of the halter-fish (type Zanclus) are especially high-re-y and have a long moved out back-fin. they belong to the most decorative coral-fish, however, somewhat difficult charges are.
Attitude Doctor-fish require higher temperatures in the aquarium between 25-30 °C. The in-habituation is occasionally difficult.
