the big African ear-vultures is the mastering gripping-birds, who oust all other vulture-types, at a carrion. If not sufficiently dead animals accrue, they can carry off also successfully smaller, living vertebrates, however.

The African ear-vulture is one of the biggest airworthy birds of the old world with a wing-span of approximately 2,8 m. it owes its name to an ear-nicely looking skin fold at the head-side.
