the rock-pigeon (Columba livia, deaf persons) is the trunk-form of the house-pigeon. The pigeon-breeding began long before our calendar, probably at first in means-Asia, little later in Egypt and Greece. Even the application as "letter-deaf persons" already was known; to strong extent, however, the deaf kultischen served purposes.
Races One distinguishes approximately 140 races and hits of the house-pigeon by size, shape and color today.
