lives in the mane-seal heavy in the male sex until 2,50 m and approximately 300 kg South America's coasts and possesses the same spread-area as the South American sea-bear (sea-bears) with it. it is sea-lion (sea-lions), for whom it is similar in the behavior also in much, similarly massive and short-headed like Stellers.

Reproduction At the reproductive-time beginning of January collects the bulls about itself up to nine and more females. In this time, the males are very aggressive against other males, however, sea-bears tolerate, of whom they don't take any big note. After a Tragzeit of approximately 330 days, the females usually bring a maroon one, well developed young to the world and is covered again few days after the birth. Now, the bulls lose its aggression and even take part in the Aufzucht and the protection of the boys.

Nutrition Mane-seals live like all sea-lions in the most important thing of bigger fishings, squids and cancers.

Continuance The mane-seals are not yet threatened directly in its continuance. In most of the parts of its spread-area, they are protected.
