Shape The complexion of the nose-monkeys is a fleshy pink until yellow, that itself with arousal, as with weißhäutigen people, high-red discolors. So, the islanders then called this monkey "Orang blanda" in (= white man) contact with its then colonial-men.

Spread, habitat The nose-monkeys live in the land on water-approaches forests, above all in coast-proximity and in estuaries, on Borneo. The big American naturalist William Beebe saw often swim these monkeys in the water and dive, and once, such a diving-athlete remained under water even full 30 seconds.

Nutrition The food consists of the buds, fruits and leaves of the mangrove-jungle and Urwälder, where the large troops go out on food-search together, turned the hedge hardly other monkey-types in its extended precincts wander through and tolerate.

Endangering The nose-monkey, about whose way of life one knows not yet much, belongs to the endangered types of animal and is protected by the Washingtoner Artenschutzübereinkommen.
