the pampas-cat, to describe, is almost impossible, because this cat gave a home in the western, middle and southern South America trained numerous subtypes, that look different in each case.

Shape Together is the size, that corresponds approximately to that of our house-cats, for all and the pointed ears, that are to be regarded as unique for South America's cats. However, these ears always lack the hair-tufts at the tops as we know it approximately from the lynxes. In the fur-nature and coloring, the pampas-cats of a very long-haired, silken fur with long back-mane, that also people are able in the raised condition to instill fear, vary fully up to sparse, bristly-shaggy hair without mane-good formations. The coloring shifts from silver-gray until dim brown and almost always is multifariously spotted.

Way of life and nutrition As the name already indicates, pampas-cats are animals of the open landscapes, that populate tree-poor steppe-areas as pure ground-inhabitants. One becomes it only rare climbing on a tree, finds. its food should consist of small Nagern, birds, insects and reptiles in the most important thing. its way of life is not yet explored. Also over the continuance and the degree of its endangering, no realizations are available.
