the red-cheek-dwarf-parrot lives in the most uppermost branches of high forest-trees and is overlooked easily. The birds are loud in the flight, with the Eats one hardly hears it, however, - it betrays itself only through the fruit-garbages, that constantly fall on the earth.

With a length of about. its weight amounts to 14cm about. 40-55g. The reason-plumage is green, the underside is paler and more sallow. The forehead is red, on the vertex yellow hesitated, the cheeks are red, lined band from a blue-purple. The parrots have a blue stain in eye-proximity, the flanks are yellow and the wing-underside yellow until orange-red. The beak is gray with a black top, the eyes are brown. With the female, the cheek-stain is leather-brown instead of red.

Fruits become as food, especially gladly figs, seeds, nectar and insects are preferred.

The birds dig a Nisthöhle to the brood in rotted tree-trunks or thick branches. The nest consists of 2 eggs, that are incubated by the female 21 days. Only the female feeds the boys, later also the male, to beginning. The nestling-time amounts to approximately 7 weeks.
