In this case, the smaller pond-tube-singer must give way to the bigger throttle-tube-singer.

Spread The tube-singers are widespread in the restrained widths of the elderly Weltweit. As example, the throttle-tube-singer belongs to a group of very similar forms, that lives in a large part of Europe, Asia and Australia together. Endangering The throttle-tube-singer, A. arundinaceus, belongs to the strongly endangered types, and also the reed-singer, with us A. schoenobaenus, is threatened in its continuance.

Swamp-tube-singers The most frequent tube-singer in Central Europe is the swamp-tube-singer (Acrocephalus palustris). it is among the smallest types (Z) with a length of 12,5 cm. B. Throttle-tube-singers: 19 cm. it broods in low hedge at the shores of the rivers, brooks and seas, cancels also over fields (grain-fields) to the eating, however, if they are in the proximity. The male usually sings in immediate proximity of the nest. The chant is more melodious and variation-richer than with the other tube-singer-types and almost always includes imitations of other bird-voices. The bird sings not only the whole day over, often also through the whole night. With other types, Z. B. the reed-singer, the chant also often is recited in the Balzflug.

Brood The nests of the tube-singers, deep and carefully manufactured bowls, is fortified at vertically standing stalks; if they are erected densely in the young reed over the water-surface, they move into the height with the growth of the stalks. Usually broods and feeds both sexes.
